We had a need to shop on the other side of the motorway today, so my mind immediately began thinking about Sushi Rice Bowl Tama-Ya for some brunch. It was a good choice, and we sampled some of the menu, discovering that while it was primary a take-away business you could make custom orders. As was the case with the large serve of pickles I had at the end of the meal.
While tasty, I found these Tsukemono confusing as I’m more familiar with the Takuan taking on the semi-circular shape that the Shibazuke had, and vice versa. Meanwhile, the green pickle I was unable to tell if it was Chinese cabbage or Kyurizuke, although if the latter it certainly didn’t resemble what I would consider it to normally look like.
