Riverside Restaurant, December 2016

A special dinner in Adelaide was held at the Riverside Restaurant. The food was lovely, and the service impeccable, but as you would expect from a top-rated hotel restaurant, the prices were high.

My starter was delicious. I was a little apprehensive about the octopus because I know how easy it is to end up with a chewy mess, however in this case the chefs did an amazing job as the meat was so tender.

I switch between vegetarian dishes and meaty dishes quite often. I’m not struggling with meat or anything like that, I just like some variety and trying new things. The menu didn’t really interest me on this occasion and my partner chose what I would have gone for otherwise, a large grain fed scotch fillet. So the opportunity arose to also have a steak, but of a different kind. I was very happy with the dish, it was more than filling and had several elements that worked well together and on their own.
